Sara Weil
[Task Force]

Guiding Sarah Weil in all her endeavors is her vision of Jerusalem becoming A House of Prayer for all Peoples. Project development coordinator for the Yerushalmit Movement, she is also the director of Nekudat Mifgash – discussion circles in Zion Square – a project that formed after the murder of Shira Banki during the 2015 Pride Parade in Jerusalem. The project is aimed at transforming Zion Square from a place of suspicion and hostility to a cultural space of dialogue and constructive discussion between different communities.
Weil is the CEO and founder of the Women's Gathering organization which creates LGBT art and culture events with the collaboration of local businesses, in order to strengthen the LGBT community. She has previously worked as the community-development director for the Elijah Interfaith Institute and volunteered as organizational developer for Bat-Kol, an organization for Orthodox lesbians.
Weil loves hosting great Shabbat meals Carlebach-style, with fine Israeli food and wine. Currently she is studying towards her M.A. in Philosophy at the Hebrew University; she lives in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Nachlaot with her partner and two children.
