Married to Yonatan, and mother of Eliaz, Ben Yosef was born in Jerusalem to a father of Moroccan descent and a mother who immigrated to Israel from Canada. When she was four, the family relocated to Dimona, her father's hometown, seeking a life of social involvement and activity. After a lot of moving around – from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv to Ra’anana – she now lives in Merhav Am in the Negev.
During her two-year national service, she was a Bnei Akiva instructor in Ofra and then at Rosh Yehudi, a self-awareness center in Tel Aviv. While in Tel Aviv, she opened her home for open discussions, that were widely attended. For three years, she worked at a center for young women at risk. Generally Ben Yosef strives to expose a place of oneness and love, in and around her, and currently does so by means of music. She believes that song, lyrics, and music can penetrate through the many human layers, reaching and touching that place of one, of connecting the separated. Music and words that come from the heart will find their way into the listener's heart, as in communicating vessels. Ben Yosef performs solely before women audiences.
