Nidal Othman

13. A father of tween girls, Othman is a lawyer and a community organization counselor. He is currently the directorof the Coalition against Racism in Israel. In 2013, for about a year, he had filled in for the director of the Musawa Center for the rights of Arab citizens.
Othman was the publisher of a weekly youth and sports magazine in Arabic called Dunia Alriada Walshabab, and had a TV show in the HALA TV Channel called "Our Right". In 2003, as a community coordinator in the Musawa Center, he initiated and founded the Coalition against Racism in Israel, which is currently an independent collaboration of several organizations whose strategy is to encourage solidarity and a common struggle in groups of racism victims. In his own home town of Tamra in the Galilee, he has been leading the struggle against violence and manages on a voluntary basis the people's committee of fighting against violence and illegal weapons, in which he is supported by local organizations and activists. Othman writes opinion pieces on human rights and activism in both Arabic and Hebrew and he assists and consults several organizations of social change, project promotion and community organization within the Arab society.
