Karotchi currently Dean of Students at the Sami Shamoon College of Engineering (SCE). He is dedicated to boosting peripheral Israeli regions, leading projects to improve access of young residents of Southern Israel to higher education and engineering studies.
He began his social involvement and activism in high-school, serving as the chairman of Be’er-Sheva’s Municipal Youth Council. While studying for his B.A. in Communication, Sociology & Anthropology, and afterwards - when pursuing studies for a Master's in Law, Karotchi was a volunteer at, and later became the director of, the ISEF Foundation in Sapir College and SCE.
Karotchi served as Spokesperson for the Histadrut (Israel's organization of trade unions) in the south, and later became a supervisor in a Tel Aviv advertising firm, but his heart was in education and social issues. Aware that disadvantaged populations can be advanced through school and higher education, he left his advertising career and became Director of the Ofanim Association in the south. Ofanim is an organization dedicated to reducing social inequality in Israel by assisting weaker populations via higher education oppertunities.
Born and raised in Be’er-Sheva, Karotchi is married to Tal and father of Noam.
