Rabbi Smadja initiated and works to create interfaith dialogues through diverse organizations such as Hommes de Parole and other initiatives connected with protecting Israel in the UN. Following friction between Ramat Shlomo youth and youth from the nearby Arab village of Shuafat, Rabbi Smadja initiated a meeting with Shuafat’s Mukhtar and other dignitaries.
For the past 30 years, Rabbi Smadja has written and edited a series of books on “Laws of the Fifth Volume of the Shulchan Aruch.” The series deals with issues not presented in the renowned four volumes which relate to laws on the conduct of human interactions. He also serves as head of the R&D department for the Bnei Yossef education network.
