Yaffa was born in 1959 and is a resident of Ofra, in the Binyamin region. She is the mother of Rut Rivka (a psychiatrist working with children and adolescents); Tamar (a graduate of Hebrew University’s Revivim program, and homeroom teacher at the Keshet high school in Jerusalem); Ateret (an interior designer in Jerusalem); and Daniel Yehudah (a soldier in the Orev Nahal unit), and grandmother of a sweet, lovable gang. Yaffa is married to Avi, rabbi of the Ofra community and an educator and jurist. She has been involved throughout her adult life in various fields related to education and educational initiatives. She lectures on education at Herzog College in Gush Etzion, and on midrashic literature at Ono Academic College. Her doctoral dissertation on midrashic literature, under the guidance of Prof. Avigdor Shinan (Hebrew University of Jerusalem), is presently under review. Yaffa is the former head of the Bat Ami national civil service organization. She was a founder and director of Yesodot - Center for Torah and Democracy, and established a project to absorb new immigrants who had come from Ethiopia in Operation Solomon into the Ofra ulpana (religious girls high school). She is a graduate of the second cohort of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership. Yaffa is a member of the executive committees of various public, social, and Torah projects. She loves and is committed to the Jewish people and Israeli society, and strives to be involved in doing good.
