We have been continuing our ongoing support of the Atid Schools Network with implementing knowledge and practical Living Together tools into the network. In the past year, the CEO of Atid approved a comprehensive and profound process for the entire network, towards implementing the Living Together tools. To ensure the successful implementation of this process, Atid has appointed a coordinator to lead the establishment and development of this initiative; likewise, a unique steering committee was also set up, led by the CEO, to facilitate this process.
This collaboration has led to another collaboration, with the BetaHatzeirim program, operated by the Atid Schools Network and the Ministry of Construction and Housing. BetaHatzeirim is a new program, that runs leadership development centers for young adults, in 18 neighborhoods in various communities from Israel’s geographic and social periphery. Living Together is consulting with the language design as well as with the program’s staff training.
An additional collaboration which has led to a new program is our partnership with Israeli Hope in Education, which began with the “Educational Journeys for Teachers” initiative, and is continuing this year with the “Leaders of Israeli Hope in Education Forum” launched this year for the Educational Journeys Alumni. Living Together was chosen to lead the training for the teachers’ forum, in a six-month program for teachers wishing to undergo a meaningful Living Together process. The program provides them with Living Together tools and concepts for implementing Living Together processes in their schools.
As a result of our partnership in the “Israeli Hope Educational Journeys” initiative (led by the President’s Office), “Living Together” was chosen to lead, design, plan and moderate the “Leaders of Israeli Hope in Education Forum”, a follow-up program for the Educational Journeys program. This 6-month program is designed for a select group of 18 leading teachers, from the diversity of communities in Israel, all of whom are Educational Journeys alumni. The group is a leading forum for fellows in the Israeli education system, who can refine the knowledge, experiences, and tools required to deal with living together and education for partnership within the Israeli education system while leading an internal process in their schools. The forum’s activities will end in April 2020 with a closing ceremony, where programs developed by the participants will be presented.
Finally, as part of the constant efforts made towards further extending our programs and activities, and as part of connecting with the challenges of the field, we are currently exploring new opportunities in the informal education system. Specifically, we are looking into collaborations with pre-military programs (Mechinot) and youth departments in local authorities. We wish to bring the terminology, principles, values and practical tools of “Living together” to the world of informal education. Together with the Director of the Erez Mechina and its participants, Living Together jointly created and developed educational content, which will be translated and integrated into the annual pre-military program. The process will begin this month and is designed to making the concepts and principles of Living Together accessible and relevant to participants, as a central pillar of their training as proactive Israeli citizens.
