Dear Friends and Partners,
These lines are written before the election results are known. Whatever the election results and your opinions are, it is clear that Living Together has a vital social role: to develop and implement practical tools for Living Together in Israel. Our mission is more urgent than ever: to moderate political and social discussions and the polarity between various parts of Israeli society.
To address the needs of a fragmented Israeli society, in the last few months the professional staff and the Living Together Task Force have been working together on developing potential solutions to bridge the ever-growing gulf between Israel’s diverse communities.
In this Newsletter, we are presenting our unique project operating in 7 communities across the country, a project funded by the Ministry for Social Equality and in partnership with the Israeli Association of Community Centers. We will share with you our projects in education , our projects in academic institutions and local authorities, addressing the challenges of modern Israeli communities by accepting and respecting different opinions without encroaching any beliefs or ways of life.
As you may know, our Dibur Acher (Different Talk) project encourages dialogue among diverse communities on different social media platforms and thus reveals a new story of Israeli society , is thriving and evolving. It serves as a source of information and provides practical tools to champion Israel’s unique diversity on social media.
Soon the Living Together Center will become an official “Amuta”, a non-profit organization. Although it is an apparently formal process, it will allow us to focus on our mission and goals and to formulate an independent organizational culture and perform our goals with the assistance of an excellent professional and human infrastructure.
Dear allies and friends, at the start of the New Year, following a social chaos after two election campaigns and in an organizational momentum, we hope you will continue to be our partners in the future too.
Shana Tova and Happy Holidays,
Noam Lautman, Chair Zvika Goldberg, CEO
