Bar Giora, the Director of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership obtained his B.A. and M.A. from the Hebrew University in Mathematics and Computer Sciences. His process of transitioning from high-tech to education began with consulting to a high-tech firm while teaching math and computers at the Hebrew University Secondary School and at Beit Ariel – a home for at-risk young women in Jerusalem. Bar Giora worked as a manager of an international project in the same company he had consulted to. For ten years, he was Principal of the Charles E. Smith High School for the Arts in Jerusalem, where he won the Jerusalem Municipality's institutional education award. He was then appointed chief of the implementation headquarters of the Ofek Chadash Reform in the Ministry of Education's headquarters. Bar Giora was appointed director of the Jerusalem Joint Administration of Education.
Bar Giora is a graduate of class four of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership.
