Born and raised in Ashdod, Toubul currently lives in south Tel Aviv with his wife and two daughters.
A political activist, Toubul is the founder of the Tor HaZahav (Hebrew for the Golden Age) Movement – a new movement based on values of Mizrahi (Middle Eastern) Zionism and traditional Judaism.
Toubul is a lawyer, currently studying for his LL.M. law degree, majoring in human rights in the Takana track at the College of Management. He has a weekly column on www.nrg.co.il and co-hosts with Margalit Tzan’ani the radio show It Ain’t Europe Here on the Lev HaMedina station. Toubul is founder and editor of Café Gibraltar – a culture magazine providing a home for multicultural social enterprises, as well as the Tangier publishing house for writers living in peripheral regions.
In his political activities, Toubul has two interrelated goals: a fundamental shift in the power balance in Israeli society, to enable improved representation for the various communities; and the creation of a new vision for Israeli politics - pragmatic, problem-solving, progressive, correcting wrongdoing, and that seeks a common denominator.
