Lesser holds a B.A. in Education, Bible and Talmud teaching, and an M.A. in non-profit-organization management from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She studied at the College for Advanced Judaism Studies for Women, and continues to study and teach there. She works in the field of informal education and among her many activities, has headed the content and education division in the Jewish Agency's Shlichim (emissaries) Unit. Familiar with Diaspora Jewry – she spent some years living abroad in an Orthodox Jewish community - she has also spearheaded Partnership 2000's projects and enterprises. Lesser is currently the director of the Education Division of Ne'emanei Torah Va'Avoda.
Born in central Israel, Lesser has lived in Jerusalem for the past twenty years and is now a Jerusalemite through and through. She is active in the Kiryat Menachem community and in the city at large, involved in projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening pluralism in Jerusalem. For more than fifteen years Lesser has been active in the field of Jewish renewal in various organizations. She loves learning and teaching as well as creating opportunities for inter-sectorial encounters and dialogues. A mother of five and married to Ronni, a social worker and the Rabbi of the Eliyashiv Community of immigrants from Ethiopia in Kiryat Menachem, Lesser, in her very limited spare time, enjoys quality culture and Jerusalem’s nightlife.
