Yuvi Tashome-Katz
[Task Force]

is a co-founder of the Friends in Nature Association, where communities of young adults are formed and led by Israelis of Ethiopian descent.
In 2005, she and several friends formed the Gedera Community group, which she had led for a few years. Still a member of the Gedera community, Tashome-Katz is now a volunteer in the organization, concentrating mainly on team-building and community development.
Tashome-Katz came to Israel at age seven, after a long journey through Sudan. In 1998, following military service in the Education and Youth Corps, she served as an instructor in the Rama Jewish summer camp in the US. With her return, she joined the Israeli Society for the Protection of Nature, where for seven years she served as an instructor and coordinator of its multicultural program. In addition, she has served as director of the Sorek Field School in Rehovot.
Tashome-Katz is currently working for Karev – a program teaching organic gardening in schools - and in addition she gives lectures and workshops on multicultural issues. Since the 2013 local authorities' elections, Tashome-Katz has been a member of the Gedera Local Council.
Yuvi and her partner Nir are raising their four children, and she enjoys hiking, reading, and social encounters.
